The Vice President of Environmental Services role is a key member to the executive team. As Vice President of Environmental Services, you will lead our strategic initiatives in renewable energy, enhance our market presence and foster the development of Senior Project Managers. This role combines technical expertise with business development, marketing acumen and a focus on effective communication and leadership development. Responsibilities of the Vice President of Environmental Services may include but are not limited to the following tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:

    • Drive the vision and strategy for client growth, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

    • Oversee the development and execution of business development initiatives to expand market reach and identify new opportunities in the energy sector.

    • Quarterly and annual company and division goal development.

  • Business Development & Marketing:

    • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote our environmental and permitting services.

    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and clients to drive business growth.

    • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions and enhance market postioning.

    • Develop, monitor, and track the necessary KPIs to meet the revenue targets of the Environmental Services division.

    • Lead ERP’s proposal process, review and approve appropriate scope development and evaluation on Environmental Services proposals.

  • Talent & Operations:

    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organization, with a focus on Project Managers.

    • Design and implement training programs to enhance communication skills, conflict resolution, and goal setting capabilities among managers.

    • Mentor and coach emerging leaders, providing guidance on effective leadership practices and career development.

    • Build the Environmental Services team to reach revenue targets and be responsive to client needs.

    • Interview and hire candidates. Create job descriptions for new positions, as needed. Detail roles and responsibilities within the Environmental Services team.

    • Lead project evaluations and reviews, as well as goal planning for management team.

    • Document performance issues and develop Performance Improvement Plans, as necessary.

    • Increase visibility of the ERP team through engagement in organizations, speaking opportunities, and industry events.

  • Communication & Collaboration:

    • Lead initiatives to improve internal communication and collaboration across teams, ensuring alignment on organizational objectives.

    • Facilitate difficult conversations and conflict resolution to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

    • Establish clear performance metrics and goals for teams, ensuring accountability and alignment with broader organizational goals.

  • Client & Project Management:

    • Maintain and expand client relationships and project opportunities. Goals will include revenue targets and growth initiatives.

    • Manage large and complex projects and provide mentoring for management team on their management skills.

    • Manage client expectations and communications.

    • Identify issues on projects before they become a crisis.

    • Create and track profitability parameters for clients.

    • Negotiate updated rate sheets and/or MSA terms, as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Biology or similar science field, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior management role within the energy sector.

  • Proven record of successful business development and marketing in the energy sector that contributed to organizational growth.

Responsibilities: The Senior Environmental Scientist will lead permitting, planning, siting, regulatory, and other tasks associated with development and implementation of renewable energy projects. Responsibilities may include any of the following:

  • Project Leadership & Oversight

    • Serve as Technical Lead on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
